Design Principles
Design Principles are overarching. They help us direct all of our digital efforts in a coherent and distinct way with these 3 principles:
-
Flexibility
-
Continuity
-
Consistency
Working with a standard design template:
Implementing a website based on a Standard Design Template, with a common design language across all Bayer Consumer Health brands, does not mean to compromise on a brand’s identity. It does, however, include guidelines for how to best make a brand’s look and feel come alive while living into these standards. Brand guidelines function as the basis for overall look and feel of digital experience, and corporate guidelines are being used to inform common elements.
The standard components should be used as much as possible as a base for designing pages. Components can be adapted to local/brand needs where required. Components must always adhere to the grid specifications to protect the integrity of the component and templates. If a specific need cannot be covered by the available components, additional components can be created but must be designed in collaboration with CMS Platforms and IT.
Keep in mind the mobile-first mindset when creating the website layout: the Standard Design Template is already responsive and needs to be filled with a specific layout that is first and foremost responsive and persuasive on mobile devices as well as on all other devices and screens.
